Wolfheze
| This is the village Wolfheze. In this surroundings landed the Division on 17th, 18th en 19th September. On the picture you can see the Railway Arnhem-Ede, which played an important role in the Battle. The Railway was a strategic point because it was built on a hill. Wolfheze was famous for its psychiatric hospitals, some started in 1908. |

In the beautiful village
Wolfheze a beautiful monument is to be seen. On the monument you can
read the following inscription:
In memory of the units of the 1st Airborne Division and of the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade Group which landed in this vicinity on 17, 18 and 19 September 1944. From here they advanced in the direction of Arnhem to seize the the road-bridge as part of Operation Market Garden. This Batlle of Arnhem lasted from 17 to 26 September 1944.
