| Near this hollow fought the men of the 4th Brigade. It can be found near the east of the perimeter. This hollow was occupied by Major Powell and his men of 156 Battalion, when de Brigade tried to reach Oosterbeek on September 20. Hackett occupied this spot for some hours, before they would reach Oosterbeek. |  |

stands a pile with the following inscription:
On 20 September the remnants of 4 Parachute Brigade held this hollow against German attacks, pressed with tanks and flame-throwers. They then broke through to continue the fight in Oosterbeek.
