Airborne Monument Oosterbeek

This is one of the most important monuments of the Battle of Arnhem. It was built in 1946 by Jacob Maris. The monument has no inscription, but an explanation is at the bus stop near the Utrechtseweg. This explanation contains a report of the battle. This monument, called a needle, is also surrounded by some benches. Near it is the Airborne Museum.
Money was raised after the war by the Oosterbeek citizens to build the monument. The first commemoration was between the ruins of the battle with this new monument.
Near the bus stop, there is a decription of the monument. This description is in Dutch.
