Battle of Arnhem Monument Site

101st American Airborne Division

After the battle of Arnhem the British and Polish Airborne Soldiers went home. The Americans stayed in this area till November 1944 under the command of XXX Corps. Many American people died here. That is why this monument was established. It is to be found in Heteren on the other (south) side of the Lower Rhine. 101st Airborne landed near Eindhoven and Son to capture the bridges there.
